Riverlife Task Force

Mon Wharf Landing

Phase One: Landing

  • A 2,600 ft. restored promenade that links Point State Park to the trail system
  • Retaining walls that section off surface parking from trail users
  • Planters with a natural berm and landscaping which will sustain flooding
  • Bioswales to reduce highway and storm water runoff that currently sheets into the river
  • New lighting, benches and signage

Status: State and federal agencies and the private sector have committed $2.1 million in funds for design and construction of the Landing. Final design is nearly complete and construction is expected to begin in 2007.
