Phase Two: Fountain, Water Steps & Promenade

- Restore and enhance the fountain including the addition of seating and a raised fountain base with a splash pool of water within hand’s reach
- Install water steps at the tip of the point
- Restore promenade around the river edge
Monongahela River Connection
- Build Mon Wharf pedestrian causeway and a bike path connecting the Mon Wharf to Point State Park and the Eliza Furnace Trail
- Create a water landing and plaza for small motorized and non-motorized craft
Allegheny River Connection
- Create a new Allegheny riverfront viewing stand to connect Point State Park with the Allegheny Riverfront Park, the Convention Center Riverfront Park, the Strip District and bridges spanning the North Shore and downtown Pittsburgh
- Build a water landing and plaza for boaters.
Status: Efforts are underway to raise funds for final design and construction of Phase Two so that it can be completed by 2008—Pittsburgh’s 250th Anniversary Celebration.
